Friendship Poem by Caitlin Moreby

Friendship

Though I love you all the time
Now and then I seem to find
That I can't stand your company,
And wish that you'd just let me be.

Don't take this wrong (though you will)
You will be my best friend still,
But things you've done I can't ignore,
This is what makes me feel sore.

You don't listen, you don't find time
You keep on leaving me behind,
But what makes things even worse
Is that I always put you first.

Now we argue and you cry
I'm forced to apologise,
Will you ever realise
Or see it through my neutral eyes?

But you cling to him, your love,
You claim he's sent from high above,
When really he's a worthless jerk
And in the end you will get hurt.

But loyally there I will be
Waiting with some sympathy,
But while you say you didn't know,
Inside I'll say 'I told you so'.
