Friendship

Friendship is a flower
that blooms through
all four seasons
A river that flows
through valleys low
A spark of light
that shines through the night

A blanket you wear
in the chill of the night
A shield and spear
you use during a fight
An antique
with no prize tag on it

Friends are not made
but drawn by fate
Treat them like a painting
put them in the best light possible
Friends are not for influence
but for reliance
I got your back
you got my back
Thats their motto

Trust is a pillar
they lean against
Love is the core
of their existance
And respect is the fruit
of their love and trust

Dont walk in front of me
I may not follow
Dont walk behind me
I may not lead
Walk beside me
and be my friend

Wow! This is the best poem I have ever read about friendship and it has kept me on the path of valuing my friendhsip. And what I like about it is that it has a thourough meaning but yet simply conyeved. I can't help it but to stress the lines where you say: Friends are not for influence ___ but for reliance. Indeed that is the truth. Thank you! (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Three times I had the lust to kill,
To clutch a throat so young and fair,
And squeeze with all my might until
No breath of being lingered there.
Three times I drove the demon out,
