Friendship Prayer Poem by Paul Sebastian

Friendship Prayer

Dear Lord
May your favour rest upon this prayer I send:
I pray your loving care be upon my friends
who work hard at their strides
Bargain for life’s rewards
Standing up to life’s trials, they fight
Holding their dear dreams in full sight
Striving daily, to make purposeful, their lives
Helping their children’s challenging drives.

Stretch out your mighty hand
Embrace those in faith make their stand
Show them the path they should go
Touch them so they may come to know
Your abounding love, and in faith grow.

May the joy in their hearts glow in their smile
May your blessed assurance stay all of their lives
May they and their kin be abundantly blessed
May thanksgivings and praises, on their lips, forever rest.

Dear Lord
May my humble plea to you, ascend
May the glory of your love descend
May your name, always, be praised
Beautiful friends, you have raised
To make my joys so complete
Friends, they shall always be.
Amen.
