Friendship Wreck Poem by Lance Uppercutt

Friendship Wreck

Where does one lose sight of being rationally flawed
One step from human truth to stand in a perfect fog
Perplexing my mind to injury a sloppy slap to reality
Quickening anger of emotion in lieu of
Kind compassionate appraisal
Instant acquiescence of uncanny resemblance
The imposing 'resume of wrong'
Buoyant in waters of remembrance
Attached at the ankle by a tether so long
Anger shrouds the heart hiding any friendly feeling
Leaves you crashing to your back staring at the ceiling

The writing of a letter to a friend dear of mine
And every lack of ink droplet illustrates the time
Inspiration pulses the body by caliber of friend
Marionettes the body time and time again
But the modern compulsion of instant
Makes jokes of points that lay so distant
Letters at wave speed beating anger to the finish
Reflect in your eyes of what you're feeling diminish

Pooling emotional drips and in that puddle remains
A reflection of pain and its everlasting stains
Giving no time for thorough thought of consequence
No time to stamp out such a petty incense
Sanitizing thought with an anger over boiling
The purity of friendship's pursuit starts its spoiling
The true consequence of this down dressing
Is drowning a friendship that once was a blessing

We no longer service the orchard of friendship
The tools, the field, and the seed serves thee
Poisoning the ground it snatches our fruit
Such a cruel gesture from an insecure tree
Another bad apple for the 'resume of wrong'
Helpless and rotting I sing its swan song
As I'm breaking inside I pick up its core
And remember the reason it was grown for

Loved the poem, I am not an elegant writer, I write flesh bones and am always raw, perhaps hedious, but I have a request try to shorten your poems, and I loved the last two lines, it pained me a lot, your poem transmitted shocks, living poem.
