From A Dirt Salesman Poem by Thomas Shelton

From A Dirt Salesman

What's the purpose in purchase and sale
When we weather this storm through the wind and the hail
Set apart from this ship that's sinking and sifting the water

Armed to defend our privilege and property lines
Like the Earth could be divided and multiplied
But try as we might we can never make sense of this outdated math

These roles are reversed
We can't take the dirt
But instead are destined to descend into it
