From A New Mom To A Mom-To-Be Poem by Jay Toff

From A New Mom To A Mom-To-Be

I could tell you that you're about to meet an angel.
That she will be perfectly created for your eyes.
That her squeaks and giggles will ring the sweetest sounds your ears have ever heard and will ever hear.

I could tell you there will be countless times when you look into this angel's face with tears welling in your eyes.
That her preciousness will render your heart mush.
That you'll hold this warm little body in your arms and lose track of the world around you.

I could tell you that your heart will grow bigger than you thought possible.
That time and memories and family will take on new meaning.
That you will finally begin to understand just how much your own mother loves you.

I could tell you that this angel, in her comfy womb-home, longs to meet you.
That she longs to know you.
That you are her world; all that she knows of this world of ours.

I could tell you all of this, but you'll discover soon enough for yourself.

Angels transcend words.
