FROM BEGINNING STARS ON EARTH
By Steven A. J. Drake
April 23,2012

To begin with. Where do the bodies lie?
beneath your breath. Contrary to the
evidence that puts your heart to rest..
Astounding to witnesses that don't confess.
When the rivers roll right off your chest.
Might as well be moon shadows on the
dark side of impervious guests. Stalled.
Horses run barnstorming through gates
to win, place or show.

Crossing desert lands where no man should go.
Rising up. Fiery infernos.
Secret mirages. Painting pictures.
Next flood for the arch of angels. Spiritual.
Depth flying off pages. For the grace
of God's forgiveness. Infinity's
gifts. Fortuitous praises. Outlined.
Stars and earth next to Heaven's sky.
To be well applied.

No fixation. Irreverent false eyes.
Hiding behind secrets. Transparent.
To whom that need not to cry. Dying.
Hope that's revitalized. Future's promises.
Born to be who you really are. Thoughts
rivet through your battle scars. Lasting
one more day to reveal yourself. Past
blood, sweat and tears gone awry. Save
for truth, no disguises.

Heart and soul's footprints treading deep water.
Replacing fear. Consternation.
Integrity's character really
matters. Facing enemies in the face of
your mirror. Standing up for what you
most dearly cherish. Absolved of truth's
ignorance by slight of hands. Lovelorn.
Forlorn. Understand. Empathy's
resolutions by God.

Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Touched
by angels' guardianship here on earth.
Seeking wisdom out of womb of your
birth. Time compelling to hearth of
heartache's false assumptions.
Stretched beyond all limitations.
Counting on something newly born
in faith. Concentric. Navigational
without restraints to hold you back.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Overcoming tragedy's pain of despair. Trying to make a conscientious difference. Sometimes feeling there is no one out there. In the past of painful circumstances for how honestly I've dared. When all you've got left is faith of any future to learn from. Wisdom is painful for the knowledge you've gained. Especially in denial of what's been stolen out of your brain. Evidential past people's false claims. Killing the truth with lies out of people I've been forced to face.
Through a great deal of circumstances when I felt I had lost everything. Trying to feel newly born out of the writing poetically and lyrically.
