From My Room Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

From My Room

From my room
I watch as evening descends upon
The dusty street
A long journey of
The sun is going to be finished as it
Quits spilling its heat

From my room
I watch the sky spreading darkness
From the silent west
And birds rush to
Feed their nestlings and give wings
A nightlong rest

From my room
I watch the clouds reveal stars and
Moon to the weary world
A divine light
Passes across the sky turning the plains
Into a sea of gold

Reading your poem, I felt myself young and full of the excitement of being alive, safe in my own space, with the world all around to discover again.
