From Now Until It's Now Again

I'd like to be a drop of rain,
a tear to shine in eyes of crane,
to feel no sadness nor a pain.
From now until it's now again.

I'd like to be a bitter chain
to hold those hearts that only drain
the human will. Those hearts too vain.
From now until it's now again.

I'd like in every soul to reign,
to caress fearful thoughts profane
that a poor heart deny would fain.
From now until it's now again.

I'd like the power to restrain
mouth-honor, curses and disdain
away from every heart and brain.
From now until it's now again.

Time, Father of the mighty Vane,
make seconds sleep outside of gain,
stand still for all that is humane!
From now until it's now again.

The code for this comment begins 333 and #333 is personally significant to me, so I'm assuming this comment will be delivered. // What a charming and universal refrain! I'm imagining your voice reciting it with a slight variation to highlight each new example of its relevance to multiple experiences. But the four sections of the poem all emphasize your desire to intervene between other people and possible pain. It's a triumph of compassion pure and simple, wanting to reign not to have power over someone else but to ease their suffering. It give me hope, increases my faith, makes charity accessible. Can a brief poem do all these things? Yes, yes, yes.

Thank you, dearest friend! I read your letters and I had to smile about your fight with technology (here we are siblings!) ...Like always you capture the essence of my soul and my desire to pour it in a poem...Blessed you be!
