From The Heart Poem by Charlotte Riley

From The Heart

Where art thou my father?
Who cries in dishonesty.
He feels like a failure
Still deeply I love thee

Stronger in his youth
He is blinded by the truth
But still he keeps on soldiering
Despite reputational spoofs

I feel his long-drawn sorrow
I hear his long-last pain
Today, everyday, tomorrow
Sympathetically but guilt remains

Still I love thy father
Though he hast done us wrong.
I wish that I could change his ways
And demolish these 'sickness' days.

With fear my mind is restless
And I just cannot rest.
My purpose is to help those
Emotions have taken West.

Why was he chosen to suffer,
This personality?
His life was once so rich,
We were a family.

I want to prey
How I’m a fool
My heart engulfs forgiveness.
Please let me say
If I could rule
I’d take away your weakness.

I want you to understand my father
I’ve always loved you so
Hold onto my deep strength and
Please don’t let me go.
