From The Land Poem by Gavin Rigler

From The Land

Oyster

Oh, hold up.
She's bringing out the purse. Oh god!
Change! Someone give her an oyster!
Anyone! Anyone! The ones and the twos.
The fives and the tens. Come on!
Hurry up! It's been 15 seconds.
Oh, your done? Great!
Here's your ticket, my dear.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I would class this as a semi poem. It came from a trip that I took to London earlier this year. I live in the country, so using a London bus was a new experience. I didn't realise how impatient people could be and how fluid London can be. You have to be fast pace to keep up with these people.
