~ Frustrated Plans

How many are man's frustrated plans,
When heeding all the words of man?
Each timid heart can take a stand
On some oracle of another man.
Or those who rashly act in haste
May use a saying for excuse.
Though contradictory each may be,
Yet each containing some small trace
Of truth to merit place in memory.
That all things come to he who sits and waits
Is true if only we should see
The word omitted here is 'idly'.
That faint heart ne'er won fair maiden's hand
Is true if never adding patience planned.
How many brave and stalwart men
Who've wielded sword and conquered seas
Have lived out long and lonely days,
Lest, having spoken out, should be rebuffed?
Yet seeming dull and patient men,
Who through a life of drudge endure,
Have found their happiness secure
By speaking out their heartfelt thoughts.
So if 'tis true, each man will make the bed,
Where he himself will have to lay his head;
He can always use history's well remembered rhymes
To excuse the end result of his own neglect or crimes.

Yes, many thoughtful and seeking men, will have their thoughts known. It's a long poem and written in great detail and form. I love this style of writing verse. Ten out of ten.

Very deep and thought provoking, lends itself to one of my personal favorites… Ignorance is bliss. One thing that stands out above all the rest when it comes to politics, history, or geography, is that all three are shaped by the winners. Losers have no voice in politics. Losers have no country on a map. Losers have no quotable history. So, when we find ourselves failing in our PLANS of politics, history, or geography don’t put the blame on your brain, put it on your loving heart instead. Maturity... is the Ultimate deal killer; in this world of fools.
