Gail Davis Eyes Poem by Juan Olivarez

Gail Davis Eyes

I was in love with a young cowgirl,
With beautiful eyes, and golden curls.
My heart emitted so many sighs,
When I first beheld Gail Davis' eyes.

They called her Annie Oakley,
I tell ya partner she could shoot.
She treated horses so gently,
No high heels just cowgirl boots.

Gail could do everything,
That all the pokes could do.
But I never heard her sing,
Though I'm sure she could have too.

Gail Davis was a queen,
Underneath those western skies.
A living doll from my childhood dreams,
And oh my Lord, those eyes.

I beleive this is the way Roy Rogers must have felt about Dale Evans! Good job.
