Garbage Feast Poem by Sidi Mahtrow

Garbage Feast

Buzzards are smart as most birds are
For they know the day’s of the week, as well as the hour.

They come just before the the Garbage Collector is due
To feast upon the leavings, not a few.

Tearing open plastic bags is an easy game
And spreading the waste is more of the same.

Then when they are done and well content,
They often tip over the can as a final comment.

“Please more meat and bone scraps next time
For the carbohydrates and fats are hurting our diets and waste line.”
