Garden Of Solace



A flutterby went by,
Its wings stretched to eternity,
It settled on a buddhlia,
And I listened not to a scream,
As the wings oscillated,
But to a buddhas breath,
in, out, in, out,
and if you quietened your mind you,
could hear quite clearly,
the whisper that rings,
'sadness is the truth behind things.
Then I saw a dragonfly,
Pass me by,
He buzzed back to me,
'No son, live or die.'
The bees were busy,
As busy can be,
But at the centre of the garden stood a sundial,
'Some day you will die,
Said the inscription,
'Tempus fugit, '
Make the most of it
I looked for the gate
And with a turn of my head
Left the garden of solace
-the sadness had left my breast,
