Gates Of Gold Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Gates Of Gold

As he was sleeping in his bed
he heard the voice of Jesus say:
'Come oh come to Heaven ~
come hither thou today'.

So he travelled through the Tunnel
till a bright light he could see,
again he heard a sweet voice saying
'come hither thou with me'.

He came upon a heavenly land
where milk and honey flow
and he met the folk he loved
from so many years ago.

And the music swelled about him
minuets and choruses grand
and he saw the great composers
resting in this wonderland.

Choirs of voices, hymns were singing
and words of happiness they told,
for he was with a band of Angels
stepping through the gates of gold.
