Gather The Poppies Poem by Rhonda Baker

Gather The Poppies

Rating: 3.5

I gather the poppies of souls gone by
One by one to accumulate all, I must try
A link to the foundation of my soul
I must get them now, before I’m too old
Preserve each one for generations to come
A tally for each, to know my Sum
Some seem so out of reach
Their placement a lesson too to teach
Each one so precious I can see here
To assemble them before they forever disappear
