Gathering Of Sorrow Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Gathering Of Sorrow

In the gathering of evening's sorrow, sitting in
tearful wonder.

Where are the times of pleasure and joy spent
through all the years?

Why do I sit alone in the dark writing my heart
out and never coming closer to any understanding?

Life, although sorrowful, still stands idly by,
lost and empty on the sinking sands of yesterday.

When will everything begin again?

Waiting endlessly impatient for the hope of being
together again.

Going to church, lighting candles, praying, watching
the flame waver to and fro, still not seeing anything
of hope in tomorrow.

Though it's a very unfortunate situation, but with aging we all have to face this ugly truth. Waiting endlessly impatient....... still not seeing anything of hope in tomorrow. ..... very true
