Geisha Girl Poem by Lu Vernezze

Geisha Girl

She used to be a Maiko
And trained hard to been a Geisha Girl
When she had become what she'd dreamt of
She thought she had the world

Her destiny
Her everything
But was it all of that?
She got treat like garbage from all the men
Dressed in suits, ties and hats

Such a young girl
With such a big heart
And a clever head on her shoulders
But no appreciation for this
She needs to break the borders

She will carry on dreaming
She will reach for the stars
She has come so close
And has got so far
To give up now

She will get a standing ovation
Or an ovation at least
From the men who think they own her
But they will never know her true self
She is a quiet girl

She thought she had the world
It may not be that easy
But one day....
She will have her dream
If she just keeps going! !

You've got to just keep going! ! ! !
