Gender War Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Gender War

Gender war

"Regardless of genders we are all equal
Why should the first being be a he? "

She meant God…

"Why are we the mankind?
Why should say human?
Why am I a woman? "

She shouted opened chest
Showed kilos of breast,
Then shouted:
"Why should words end with man? "

Silently like frog
Feeling hand on frock
I gathered arms, feet, neck.

Once, when young, I too fought
Stood there for their rights
Now tired of this fight
I offer: "think twice"
Since being equal
Means respect
For all sides
Mutual.

Extreme is ugly
Regardless you or me.

I see you flying
Sure soaring towards sun;
A warning: "Open eyes Icarus! "
