General Elections Poem by Ruturaj Zadbuke

It is time for elections
Which, today, mean
Manipulated representative selections
To perform planned sins

Its time when leaders
become vote-pleaders
And, to plan, they meet,
How to win their seat

Its democracy, the rule of people.
But yet people's powers are crippled.
Not a single representative is good & sane
Most votes thus, go in vain.

Its time for a new leader
Who would act as a corruption weeder
& won't divide and rule
& not use religion as a tool

One who believes in change
And accepts cultural evolution,
Instead of forcing old rules strange
Bring out a much needed revolution

One who would develop economy of the nation
And resist the global crisis
Also try to spread education,
Not taking unnecessary foreign vacations.

One who would fulfill every Indian's dream
And help India globally glow and beam.
Make India a super power.
And help this little bud to bloom into a flower.
