Gently To Sleep Poem by Helen Mueller

Gently To Sleep

No sweet kiss to say, goodnight,
Only a pillow to hug,
How I need a lullaby
To soothe me gently to sleep.
Whirling wind, pattering rain,
Autumn leaves playfully skipping,
Even the love song of crickets
Would comfort my weary heart.
Oh, how I need a lullaby
To soothe me gently to sleep.
