Ghost Poem by Lewis Marrow

Ghost

whilst you sleep i slowly remove my arms

once so tightly wrapped around your waist

whisper 'sweetheart' and excuse myself with charm

its why your here in the first place

have i lost my nerve

because you were always there

when i woke up

tolstoy quotes and a voice thats drenched in smoke

how ive fallen so far from grace

'need to be somewhere else darling'

a ghost in daylight in a crowded place

'leave the money on the table and turn around'

he dosen't want you to see his face

tolstoy quotes and a voice thats drenched in smoke

all i needed to get my way

stumble in the weather has cracked me thin

ive left you dreaming your years away

all i feel is the absence of your skin

a ghost in daylight in a crowded place

Great. Really enjoyed this a lot. Keep up the good word. I like the rhythm and repetition - similar to a villanelle in style. GBY, Jonathan
