Girl On Fire Poem by Destry Drew Miller

Girl On Fire

Rating: 5.0

It started with an ember
That grew into a coal
And with a breath of wind
A flame consumed my soul

Lungs full of ash
With burning, searing pain
Begging to whatever god may be
For just one dropp of rain

Though no one sees me burn
Upon my funeral pyre
These flames are all I know
I am a girl on fire

Until you get that flaming poetry under control you won't be boarding my ship anytime soon. Loved the cadence, and the fiery end. Ok, you can come aboard, just bring an extinguisher!
