Girl That I Let Go Poem by angelica arroyo

Girl That I Let Go

Rating: 4.0

I know that I let you get away but...
You are a childhood memory that still roams through my head.
You accepted me and didn't question all my quirks.
You let me spill all my sob stories.
You opened yourself up to me and let our imperfections mix to perfection.
Every time I had walked away you stayed.
You gave me chance after chance; after every tear you let me make it up with a smile.
With every argument you let me make it up with a compromise.
The days that seemed like everything was perishing you were the one that kept it stable.
No matter what girl you saw me with I always came back to sit next to you, and every guy you were with you always came back and spoke to me.
The days we didn't speak, the days of absence, and the days of insecurities we ended up in the same place- right in between each others arms.
I just wanted to thank you for the woman you are to me.
A woman of romance.
A woman of patience.
A woman of compromise.
A woman of security.
A woman besides the miseries of my loneliness.
A woman of mine.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for you unconditional love.
Thank you for your fights.
Thank you for your tears.
Thank you for your smiles.
Thank you for open windows.
Thank you for your advise.
Thank you for your jealousy.
Thank you for your open arms.
Thank you for your friendship.
Thank you for your presence.

Woman of mine, thank you.
