Give Her A Reason Poem by jenn davis

Give Her A Reason

Give her a reason
Why she chooses to wake up every morning
Give her a reason
For why she slaps on a fake smile and laughs away her pain
She’s not as happy as she seems
She’s just too afraid to let people into her heart
Just so they can break it all over again
She’s afraid that people would think differently of her
The girl that never seems unhappy
Is truly never really happy
What happens then?
The girl that thinks about why she’s still here
Then turns around and saves her friend from the long sleep of death
What happens then?
No one really wants her around
Only when she can do something for them
She’s help so many people
But who’s there to help her
Give her a reason to wake up tomorrow
And she will give you two reasons
To keep her eye closed
