Given A Chance Poem by Honor Seay

Given A Chance

Suede, cotton, and nylon condemn me to my beliefs;
Ignorance and masculinity condemn you to yours.
The word ‘wolf’ won’t stop sounding,
Bullets are not the only threat.
Every enemy is breaking down our fences,
Stop letting your ignorance lead;
Let us fight for freedom if that is our wish.
No brotherhood is weakened,
No doubts should be shed;
A brother for a brother, that’s the way it should stand.
This is the revolution,
So stand behind me or stand in front of me,
Because it has only just began.
