Givers Receivers Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Givers Receivers

Provide offer, give, help, believe
In Jesus Christ, God's Son
Life's living Truth you'll receive
With Life's true victories won

There's poor souls, most everywhere
In hovels, huts and caves
Loveless, starving without care
Facing tomorrow's graves

Those near, far, those next to you
Neighbours up, down, your street
Strangers as friends we need to view
The devil to defeat

Were you, are you a self thriller
Willing this, wanting that
Selfish behaviour's a killer
Like dogs hunting a rat

Life's givers, may not be wealthy
God's gift they'll never shirk
With helpers busily stealthy
Jesus! they'll see at work

Have you a dollar, pound, penny?
Can you spare one, a dime
Consider the hungry many
For you! may come the time

Look in the bible, read God's Word
Life's instructions to man
Will you remain, living absurd
Not helping, where you can?

You're living now, try living good
Hell's shallowness repent
Receive your needs, give as you should
Let Heaven be content.....
