Gloomy Day

Gloomy day

I woke up to find a gloomy day
It takes me thousands of kilometers away
I wept in corner and lamented of having no sister
Only concern that kept me sad and bothered

Like me many more unlucky people may be in world
Who may have no sister to feel safely in fold?
Brother may feel alone on this auspicious day
When sister remains in mind and he has lot more to say

India is celebrating * Rakshbandhan* festival today
Sister is tying thread around wrist of brother
It reminds him of his sacred duty to protect her
A rare occasion that binds him forever

As I feel sad and unlucky
The question is very much tricky
I am visibly moved and remain shaky
As same is blessed to me by almighty

Sisters may be feeling great today
As this one is considered as an auspicious day
It reminds us of great obligation on the part of brother
To stand by in critical times and protect her

Yet I feel happy about others too
As they are lucky to feel happiness through
The warmth and motherly affection from her
That shall provide all times happiness and shelter

* Rakhshabandhan…Tying of thread by sister *
