God Given Treasure Poem by Arcely Talicuad

God Given Treasure

Rating: 4.8

She's skinny, sweet and not so short;
Walks like a model, wearing those high hilled shoes.
She looks pretty with her not so fair skin;
With her eyes so brown, that smile as she grins.

She speaks less; well, not chatty as I am.
Listens to my lame jokes and laughs like a man.
I'm certainly curious, how she gets the entire pun
And her courage to punch me with her strong hand!

She loves English rather than Mathematics!
Seriously, she sweats and peaks on her cheat sheets.
Whenever Algebra comes on our spotless way
Surely, she would pray and kneels all day with me!

She makes me feel idiot, and I make her feel stupid;
Together we hoot crazily, at our own mistakes
We share pieces of advice and daily life stories,
While having some cereals and slimming teas!

She speaks the same views and beliefs as mine,
She's scary when she gets angry, for I tend to be blind
Lights my dim world and tells me exactly, who I am
Well, she's my best buddy, indeed, parallel to my mom!

She's just ridiculously annoying in some ways,
But frankly I love it, and heckle at her always.
I wish that our friendship will grow and live forever;
Surely, in my heart, I'll love her like a sister.

To suffice your curiosity, her name is Betty!
Athena and Aphrodite are nothing, compare to her beauty!
Her heart is so kind and she possesses strong compassion;
Exquisite personality that you would love like a song.

Like princesses in the bedtime or daytime stories,
She has her own gorgeous and humble prince!
Whom she undoubtedly loves with all her heart and mind
And he, treats her like she's the diamond in the town.

We both travel distance after distance,
Our path might be separated by challenges along the road.
Miles make us miss each other and obliterate the bind
But at the end of the unknown horizon, we will meet there, at the right time!

It's a lovely narrative poem, well articulated and nicely penned to capture the strength of Betty's character and personality. A beautiful lady indeed. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MZANSI AND THE BALLOT BOX.
