God Poked My Heart Poem by Catherine Agunat

God Poked My Heart

I yearned for freedom and success
So to selfish dreams I poured my best
But they all crumpled and fall apart
When God suddenly poked my heart

Soul felt like deeply pierced with a hundred dart
Pain and despair governed my heart
Am I stubborn at Your sight?
Prideful question I uttered day and night.

And time swiftly passed by
Til I humbly asked, God why?
A radical answer came into my mind
Saying, I poked your heart coz you are mine.

Since then I seek His will
With His promises I made a deal
And by his grace, again I start
To every quest, He is my biggest part.

He aligned my life and made it bright
Granted me wisdom with proper insight
So never again to Him will I depart
No matter how his words poke my heart.
