God; Purge My Conscience Poem by Siegfried OheneSidza

God; Purge My Conscience

If I lay not my trust in thee
And my soul is contaminated with contempt,
God, purge my conscience

When situations all seem uphill,
And my heart is cleaved to the thoughts of malice and strife,
God purge my conscience.

If I lay aside all the principles of your word
And denies the glory in your grace,
God, purge my conscience

When all I seek is self glory
And the peace of your love be lifted of me.
I deemed it nothing to boost of but for you
To purge my conscience

If my thoughts be full of lies and betrayal
And my words be filled with abuse and empty promises
God, purge my conscience

As I run the race of time
And the life of Your eternal glory seem all faraway
Just because of my inability to seek after your will
God, purge my conscience

I need a heart filled with a transformed life,
a mind conceited in a renewed thought
All I seek of thee Oh Lord is to purge
my conscience from deception and ungodliness

That I may serve thee with all clarity in mind and purity in heart,
God, I need You to purge my conscience,
Just to fulfill purpose, God purge my conscience
