God's Abode Poem by Anupama Anpat

God's Abode

Rating: 4.5

Warm rays of the sun fall
on the beautiful valley,
it bathes in it’s light
every nook and alley.

On the mountain top,
a shepherd ushers his flock.
At the mouth of the cove,
all boats begin to dock.

Soon it will be sun-down,
the men folk head home.
They will dress and
make their way to the dome.

There is a ceremony tonight,
a reception for the new bride,
a tradition that unifies the town
and keeps their spirits high and tied.

People gather to wish the newly-weds,
it is a happy occasion and time to cheer.
Drinks are ample and food is plenty,
all wish for such days along the year.

Sun begins to descend down from it’s throne,
giving way to the night and the moon,
the evening air feels cool,
the crowd retires to their cocoon.

Twilight takes the centre stage,
the stars soon light up the sky,
some stay up to admire it’s beauty,
its so pure and pleasing to the eye.

As the morning breaks through the dawn,
all wake up to a new day,
charmed by nature’s work at play,
‘this is God’s Paradise, ’ they say.

Gently smiling down at the valley,
the sun is now at its best,
where soul is one with nature
is God's true home, a place where He nests.
