God's Golden Wonderland Poem by Joyce Hemsley

God's Golden Wonderland

We love this world in summertime
as flowers dance and village bells chime;
buds appear on the evergreen tree
and roses blossom with dignity.

Pretty girls demure and shy...
bronzed and glamorous cast an eye.
Oh summer, you mean everything
especially when the blackbirds sing.

And even after summer fades
heaven caresses the forest glades;
softly the sun shines through the leaves
as autumn, her fine web she weaves.

The air is much cooler in the Fall
as late October comes to call...
but over meadow, heath and wold
Bounteous rapeseed shines like gold.

Winter brings the pure white snow
and somehow life seems to lose its glow
but with gratitude we greet the dawn
when beautiful springtime love is born.
