God Save Us Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

God save us from clutches
We failed to curb or reach
They have gained power
We are helpless and poor

Freedom and liberty is distant dream
In our own drive we are without team
No good people come forward
Country suffers and falls backward

Poor suffers and rich gain
The poverty and pain always remains
What to eat and what to leave!
This free system we fail to believe

System prevails but on paper
Judiciary is strong but like rainy shower
After many years it may offer shower
Through out the period, people may suffer

Law breakers are now law makers
Defense experts are now land grabbers
Soldiers die on battle field
The arms purchase provide rich yield

Saboteurs have field day
Democracy has its own way
Let hundreds of criminals be freed for justice
Not one innocent should be hanged for injustice

Criminals and murderers have place in parliament
The parliament is called holy place for such movement
Open scuffle and fight is always seen at our expense
Why should we be afraid for carrying on such nonsense?
