Godhead Discourse Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Godhead Discourse

In Heaven, The Lord devised a plan
Some details now we see
“Within our image, I’ll make a man
Who’ll live to worship me

Each word and deed, will be in sight
His every thought quite plain
I’ll form from man, a bride of light
Quite void of spot or stain

I’ve now set down my holy laws
Life’s rules to man; I’ll give
I’ll let them choose between two doors
Through which but one, they’ll live

Let death begin, through man’s first shame
Through disobedient deed
Let enter those who hate my name
Tread paths of thorn and weed

To me, restore through sinless blood
Through selfless life on earth
Through one, who lives the way he should
Through whom the bride will birth

For by my laws, no man will stand
By one; at least they’ll fall
Yet give them this; to understand
They’re free on us to call

I’ll hear; who pray, on bended knees
Who seek who can’t be seen
Yet one of us, must die for these
To form a virgin queen”

So Jesus saw; the need to die
He saw the dreadful tree
Ere Adam breathed! Christ knew on high
He’d come to set us free.
