Going Back A Cleansed Soul Poem by john tiong chunghoo

Going Back A Cleansed Soul

what do you do when a legion of
your creation turn their backs on
you and try to push you aside
for your sacred sanctuary?

well you curse them in the worst of
chains - cells, veins, arteries that
day in and day out cry to be fed
- food and above all gratification

teach them a lesson by tying
a chain of desires round their heart
after which you open their eyes
only to their kind so that now
instead of you, they now go for each other

and to show them how wrong they have
really been, you send them only a
messenger to inform them that
only those who can come clean of their
ungrateful desire and and overblown self
come back to you
