Going To The Movies Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Going To The Movies

Rating: 5.0

Now in these nights
without you

I go to the movies

alone
this time

all the time
remembering

the times of you.

Escaping
the absence

of you

(losing the plot)

sleeping the film through

smuggling my loneliness
past my sleeping mind

catching the pain
off guard

until it’s time

to walk the long walk
home

to what used to be
our home.

Been there, done that...and there is nothing lonelier than sitting in a movie house by oneself!
