The bright plumed cock becomes the the hunters target while the camouflaged hen escapes unscathed! An interesting poem with a unique structure !
This reminds me of the pheasant plucker song which must be performed with great care to reveal its finery without seeming vulnerable or perverse, often the curse of beauty.
He needs to cover up those flashy colors! At least during hunting season! ! :) Great poem!
