Golden Shore Poem by James Merchant

Golden Shore

Rating: 3.0

Well tell me how you never came before
To the island across the Golden Shore
Where nothing was living, but nobody died
Opened up my skin just to hide inside

Well show me the river that led you here
Was it ages old or did it come from your tears
This little princess owns every piece of me
So I hesitate to try and break free

Well give me permission to show and tell
Got lost in translation, I had to think a spell
You said tuck in your tail you little duck
Well take some courage and take some luck

While we all watch smiling from the stands
Why bathe in criticism and contraband
While we all smell like crude gasoline
We dry ourselves out under our dreams

They're floating right in front of me

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Not really sure what this one is about, the little duck part was taken from the Hunger Games. I think in some way, it's about ignorance.
