Golden Train Poem by Monica O'Connor

Golden Train

November 2,2009

They'll stop you like a golden train,
your golden heart, and your shining face.
you'll take the risk, trudge through the pain.
See to it that you leave this place
to somewhere where the lights are low,
so low that all your beauty glows.
In reminiscent times you'll see
how rare a golden heart can be.
So stand up strong through raging war,
your golden train will take you far.
soon you'll know what living's for,
not all just waves against the shore.
they'll do their best to crush you,
so do your best to fight through.
