Goldie Poem by verna ralph

Goldie

Rating: 5.0

Shivering in the cold
Sitting there on the snow
Hair all matted and wet
Big brown eyes looking up at me
She look so sad and all alone
I took her home with me

I sat her by the fire
Gave her food and drink
Took the ice noticles out of her reddish blonde hair
She was weak from exaustion
She went fast asleep

The days went by
She regained her strength and health
I became very fond of her
I knew I couldn, t keep her
She belong to someone else

Her owner came and claimed her
Took her away from me
My eyes filled with tears
I couldn.t bear to see her go
I loved her so

The very next day
what did I see
two big brown eyes looking up at me
Some. how a bond was made
Goldie the cocker spaniel was here to stay
