Good Friday - The Crucifixion Of Christ - A Day To Remember Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Good Friday - The Crucifixion Of Christ - A Day To Remember

Christ who was born in a cow's manger
Christ was son of Virgin Mary and carpenter Joseph
Christ who preached of love for one another
Christ who healed and restored lives of helpless
Christ who shared the Last Supper with his disciples
Christ who was betrayed by Peter as was predicted
Christ who was sentenced to death by kings and soldiers
Christ who walked with a huge cross on his back
Christ who was crucified on the Mount of Calvary,
Christ who was nailed and pierced by soldiers
Christ who was crowned with thorns before dying
Christ who asked - 'Father, how could you forget me'
Christ who breathed his last as his mother stood there crying
Christ who was laid to rest in a tomb
Christ who rose on Easter Sunday with a promise
Christ who has promised - He will come again
Christ who said - He who believes in Him, shall live forever
Christ who came and lived in this world with us
Christ who asks to seek forgiveness and love
Christ the Savior, the Redeemer, the way of life
for Christ silently listens to your pleas of help
when you are sick or in distress and when you call out to Him,
he sends you help, he heals you, rescues you
for Christ has lived on this earth and seen the sufferings of mankind
Christ is love, Christ is peace, Christ is the power
within those hearts who believe in Him, trust in Him and rejoice in Him.
