Good Lord Could You Be Any Less Specific? Poem by Ted Sheridan

Good Lord Could You Be Any Less Specific?

Rating: 5.0

Questioning the Shepard about the numbers in his flock
And the salvations of some, while to others he appears not
Questioning the Fisherman on his abundant catch
And just how many souls does it take to fill his nets
Questioning the Carpenter busy building another cross
On the number of Messiahs to be strung up and hung
Before the World comes to know the true word of God….

Despite our busy lives of nearly total self-reliance, it amazes me still how at certain times of the year, and at deep grooves in our lives, we stop to ponder his existence, hope against hope, huh, Teddy? Nice one.
