Goodbye Poem by Sara Garcia

Goodbye

I found you in the sun that faitful day,
Who knew someday we'd have to say...

Goodbye.
I will not cry.

For our story unfolded like most tend,
With a beginning, a middle and now an end.

And like all stories it will not soon be lost,
I'll think of it at any cost.

As the past is the past, no denying that,
It's important to make the good things last.

So I'll relish all the good we had,
I'll read between the lines of bad.

I'll flip through the pages in my mind,
I'll see your face warm and kind.

I'll read and remember my time with you,
And hope that someday you'll remember it too.

I hope that you'll dismiss the fights and relive the fun,
That you'll cherish those days under the sun,

That you'll think of the time we spent in your room,
And what it means to gaze at a full moon.

That you'll look back on all of the rides in your car,
On our cold winter walk in Central Park.

That you'll remember wearing your suit and tie,
And how it felt at the airport when we said goodbye.

But if nothing else please don't forget,
I've loved you since the very first day that we met.
