Goodbye Poem by Lacie Hebert

Goodbye

Rating: 2.5

It's been this way for months
We're slowly drifting apart
I've said goodbye a million times
But you hold my fragile heart

And I know your not good for me
But Damn I love you so much
I've cried a trillion tears over you
But last night I had enough

It was when I sat beside you,
And you moved further away from me.
You had to know how that made me feel,
Don't tell me you didn't see.

It was at that very moment,
I knew then, I had to move on.
I realize now that what we had before,
Is all just dead and gone.

It's gonna take time to heal
I know this all too well you see
Because you done what the last one did
And made the same promises he couldn't keep

I have to go now
Before I break down and cry
Tell you I love you one last time
Because this is really my last goodbye

You have expressed that very human heartbreak when one person still loves but the other does not. You seem to be a wise person about it though and for that too, I am glad you wrote this because young hearts need to know life has better in store and unfortunately we have to pay our dues to get the experience to be able to see the real love of our life. Very well written and written with dignity as well.
