Goodbye, My Dear Poem by Nae Tyler

Goodbye, My Dear

Rating: 5.0

Meet me at the shore
eyes reflecting sparkling moon
still not lost, daylight follows soon

If the sun came out at night,
would you believe what you see?
and if the sun just gave out,
would you stand by me?

What if I told you there was more?
would you listen when I speak?
still, holding your doubt so dear to me,
is that what makes me weak?

Meet me as the shore
forget the uncertainty of secrets untold
we'll reminisce till hearts grow cold

years pass as does our love,
bittersweet memories wont seem to fade.
so put your hand in mine for now,
pain, don't confront what you can evade..

I wanted for you to mean the world to me,
to prove them wrong, they all said we were naive..
you wanted to mean the world to me,
but couldn't make yourself believe.

So meet me at the shore, one last time...
they were right about everything we thought we knew,
torn apart, for the best, still, I love you.
