Goodbye to friends and family is never easy to say
To those you may not see again for many a day
You are bound for a place that is far away
Your mood matches the weather the sky is gloomy gray,
Good bye to friends and family that you may not see for years
Is always an occasion for sadness and tears
A separate life journey you've chosen to take
Miles in distance can separate us by the choices we make
To say good bye to friends you know you will not see for some while
Is not an occasion for to laugh and to smile
Some say goodbye to their friends and family
and many years pass before them again they do see
When you see them again they may look old and gray
For we all quickly age and time does tick away.
