Goodbye To Lies

I can't believe what you say
It's a new lie each day
How do you keep hold
Of the lies that you told
Do you keep a book
So at your lies you can look
Do you regret what you do
With the lies are you through
Cuz my heart it does ache
No more lies can it take
Hoping from being a liar
You'll retire
But alas there's not much to say
I couldn't believe you anyway
It's time for goodbye
Believe me when I say I won't cry

poet John Clare

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
