Goodnight, Camper Poem by Emma Wilson

Goodnight, Camper

So, here we go, grandad,
time to say goodnight,
i knew this day would eventually come,
but you always put up a fight.
I really hope you know grandad,
that i love you with all my heart,
and i know you'll always be with me,
we'll never be apart.
I didn't know how to tell you grandad,
those simple thee words,
i couldn't say eight simple letters,
i know it sounds absurd.
No more pain, grandad,
my inspiration, my burning flame,
although i know my life without you,
will never be the same.
The doctors didn't know you, grandad,
they didn't now the man inside,
they just give up hope and sent you home,
but each time you survived.

Good Night Camper,
Sleep tight my old fruit.

its so touching and peaks out in this poem in a lovely relationship that is loaded just with love... with a tenuous toe hold with the passing generation i enjoyed and felt the lines.. well written nice liked
